The quick cut: A girl whose boyfriend died saving her from drowning gets a second change to ensure he lives. She falls in love with her boyfriend's best friend in the process.

A real review:

Thank you to Wednesday Books for providing the arc for an honest review.

Death is difficult at any age, but it's even more complex to tackle with when you feel to blame for it. When it comes to Nieve, she feels very responsible when her boyfriend Carter does - and his best friend Max agrees.

Nieve feels paralyzed after her boyfriend Carter dies from a drowning. How did it happen? He drowned saving Nieve. Hiding from the world, she stays with her story filled grandmother. Except when she wakes up and it's the year before, she decides to take advantage and keep Carter from drowning that day. Will the changes cost her thee boy she loves? Or will she fall for someone else instead?

This is one of those books that requires you to suspend your disbelief to really get into the plot and characters. It's fun no matter what though if you go into it lighthearted and don't look too closely for the plot holes.

Nieve is grieving like any person would when a romantic partner dies. It's only compoundes by the fact that he died saving her. The sadness she feels is very palpable in the beginning and she does what only feels natural to do when given an opportunity.

The chemistry between the three romantic leads here though really didn't work for me. It seemed like it needed more growth and the time changes really aren't as clearly marked as other books do.

A cute romantic story that involves time travel.

My rating: 4 out of 5
