The quick cut: A gay teen receives a liver transplant after surviving cancer and obtains the ability to time travel. Chaos ensues when he develops feelings for two guys in two different time periods.

A real review:

We all want to find people who love and appreciate us for who we are, not just what we can do. For 17 year old Andre, that journey gets more complicated when he discovers the ability to time travel after a liver transplant.

Andre has been through a tough battle with cancer, but finally is ready to move forward. After getting a liver transplant, he's trying to finish his final classes before graduating high school, going to college, and leaving his cancer battle behind. However, that turns out to be more complicated than anticipated when it turns out his new liver gave him more than just a future. His liver also gave him the ability to time travel.

I ended up with the audiobook version for free thanks to a Barnes & Noble free Friday deal. I don't typically listen to audiobooks unless I have a road trip to go on, so it took me a bit to get to it. However, I'm happy I listened because it is quite the cute romantic story!

The lead character Andre has representation in the form of cancer and an organ transplant, but those really only serve to provide an opportunity for the time traveling ability to be inserted in the story. It's definitely something I haven't seen before, but it makes enough sense that it works story wise.

Andre is a romantic at heart and cares so much for other people. Seeing his world and circle expand with time traveling adds a new element with him trying to balance his present with his future. The guy in each time compliment Andre well, but in different ways. When Andre makes his choice, it feels natural and at the same time almost too easy to see coming.

A cute romantic story with a science fiction twist.
