The quick cut: A girl who witnessed her sister's murder gets an opportunity to get it right when she sees signs that the murderer isn't who is on trial.

A real review:

People like to yell at the screen when victims of a horror film do the wrong thing, but could you pull it off? For horror aficionado Alice, she gets more than she asked for when she gets a chance to discover the true killer.

Alice experienced heartbreak a year ago when she watched her sister get stabbed by Owen. As the only witness to her murder, she has to give her testimony. However, she's given an opportunity by an unexpected place when she wakes up back on that night to do one thing: find the real killer. Did Owen kill Alice's sister Claire?

This book really is Scream meets Happy Death Day, the description isn't wrong. If you like horror movies, this story will be one you'll like. Anyone not into slashers or horror films should skip it for sure though.

Alice is the ugly duckling to her swan sister Claire. She loves her sister though, even if she is the one who gets all the attention. So seeing her get stabbed is heartbreaking and life-changing all at once. The trial is hard enough, but when she starts seeing signs that Owen isn't the bad guy he's been made to be - she starts questioning herself.

This story has a few twists, one of which is the ending. I loved it, even if it does leave the reader on a bit of a cliffhanger. I definitely saw that killer twist coming though and something that predictable is annoying.

A fun horror film with an obvious enemy.

My rating: 4 out of 5
