The Quick Cut: An Instagram star finds his schedule overwhelming and takes a break in smalltown Wisconsin. He finds himself attracted to his agent's daughter and ends up in a fake relationship with her.

A Real Review:  Thank you to Entangled Publishing for providing the ARC for an honest review.

Breakups hurt for everybody, but when the person on the other side is a jerk? Somehow that makes the process all the more painful and complex. How do you overcome the pain of a breakup? Do you jump into a new relationship or try to pretend that it isn't affecting you? For local teen Victoria, she decides to take advantage of an opportunity and fake date a popular Instagram star.

Corey Chaos is an Instagram star known for his popular cover videos (even though all he wants to do is sing his own original songs). When the popularity and publicity circuit he's been on to get the career he wants pushes him to his limits, he takes advantage of an opportunity and decides to take a break. That break comes in the form of leaving LA and living with his agent's family for a month so he can leave his chaotic life behind and spend some time like an average teen instead. It all starts off as planned until his agent's daughter approaches him with an opportunity: fake date so she can socially recover from a bad breakup and see what small town living is about. Will everything go as planned? Or will their fake relationship cause problems instead?

This is a really cute story, even if it is short on unique storylines. Fake dating seems to be one of the latest trends in young adult books ever since the "To All the Boys" trilogy became popular. However, what this book lacks in originality it makes up for in great chemistry, adorable characters, and a simple plot line that allows you to drop whatever stress is in your lives to get absorbed in the story instead. If you're looking for a story to help you check out of your life and focus on someone else's problems instead, this book is for you!

Corey is a surprisingly nice guy for how popular he is. He's dealt with serious pain in his life, but he also knows he's gotten lucky with how blessed he's been. It's a fluke of the right circumstances that caused him to become who he is and to have the ability to pursue what he loves. That blessing comes with the curse of never having privacy and having people make up things about you to use to their advantage. The more I got to read from his perspective, the more I wished I could find a guy like him. He's not afraid to keep it real, but is also fiercely loyal to those close to him.

Victoria is an average girl with mostly average problems. Her boyfriend breaks up with her in the beginning of the book in one of the worst ways possible and rather than wallow, she chooses to find a way to move forward instead. She's got great friends that she can trust with the truth and others that stand by her when it's not popular to do so. Is she a little on the naive side? Absolutely. That's also what makes her so endearing and perfect with Corey though. She allows him to experience life on the slow side when everything else is racing forward. She helps him to keep his feet on the ground. When the two of them are together? They bring out the best in one another and have an undeniable chemistry.

A cute contemporary romance that is easy to read.
